GEN Restaurant Group places products at Smart & Final stores

GEN Restaurant Group Inc. (NASDAQ: GENK) announced its ready-to-cook marinated meat products will be available at Smart & Final Stores LLC locations. The Korean BBQ restaurant operator secured retail placement across the grocery chain's 254 stores in California, Nevada, and Arizona.

Smart & Final, operated by Chedraui USA Inc., functions as a warehouse-style grocery retailer serving household and business customers without membership fees. The placement supports GEN's retail expansion strategy for its consumer packaged goods division.

The launch includes four products: GEN BBQ Beef Bulgogi, GEN BBQ Beef Short Rib, GEN Spicy Pork Bulgogi, and GEN BBQ Chicken Bulgogi. The company states these products use the same recipes and quality standards as its restaurant operations.

"Smart & Final has a strong, long-standing presence in the warehouse grocery channel across the Western United States that aligns well with the GEN brand," said David Kim, chairman and chief executive officer of GEN. "We believe this placement provides a meaningful platform to extend our retail reach and supports the long-term growth of our distribution strategy."

GEN operates more than 50 Korean BBQ restaurant locations across the United States. The company has been expanding its brand through retail, consumer packaged goods, and experiential channels beyond its restaurant business.
