Expeditors expands aircraft-on-ground logistics services globally

Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. (NYSE: EXPD) announced the expansion of its Aircraft on Ground (AOG) logistics capabilities, adding dedicated critical logistics teams and 24/7/365 support centers connected to its global network.

The service targets airlines, aircraft manufacturers, maintenance, repair and overhaul organizations, aerospace suppliers, defense customers, and advanced air mobility providers that require urgent transportation logistics support.

According to the company's press release, the expansion is a response to rising demand for time-critical airfreight logistics and aging aircraft fleets, which have increased the need for specialized support during unplanned maintenance events and parts shortages.

Key elements of the offering include next-flight-out, dedicated trucking, hand-carry, and charter transport options, along with real-time shipment visibility, customs guidance, and access to more than 300 Expeditors locations worldwide.

"When an aircraft is grounded, every minute is critical," said Jim Cangiano, Global Director, Aviation and Aerospace at Expeditors. "Our expanded AOG capabilities combine specialized expertise, global reach, and around-the-clock execution to minimize downtime, maintain operational continuity, and manage complex logistics challenges efficiently."

The AOG expansion is part of Expeditors' broader Critical Logistics Services strategy, which focuses on urgent, business-critical transportation requirements.
