Elite Pharmaceuticals launches generic methadone tablets

Elite Pharmaceuticals Inc. (OTCQB: ELTP) announced the commercial launch of its generic methadone hydrochloride tablets in 5 mg and 10 mg strengths.

The tablets are indicated for managing severe and persistent pain requiring opioid analgesics when alternative treatment options, including immediate-release opioids, are inadequate. The medication is also approved for detoxification and maintenance treatment of opioid addiction when used with appropriate social and medical services.

According to IQVIA data cited by the company, brand and generic methadone products generated approximately $22 million in annual retail sales in 2025.
