Elastic partners with CISA on $130M cybersecurity platform for agencies

Elastic (NYSE: ESTC) announced a partnership with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to develop a Security Information and Event Management as-a-Service platform for U.S. federal civilian agencies.

The initiative operates under a $26 million base-year contract through ECS, with potential renewal for up to four additional years, bringing the total agreement value to $130 million. The contract allows CISA to standardize cybersecurity monitoring across Federal Civilian Executive Branch Agencies using Elastic's cloud-based platform.

The SIEMaaS platform will run on Elastic's FedRAMP-certified Elastic Cloud and aims to centralize security data collection, enable real-time threat detection, and facilitate rapid incident response across participating agencies. A large federal agency will serve as the first tenant, with its implementation serving as a blueprint for broader rollout to additional federal entities.

"Federal agencies remain a top target for cyber adversaries, and the current pace and complexity of attacks demand a new operational model," said Ash Kulkarni, CEO of Elastic. "By consolidating cybersecurity telemetry into a shared, cloud-based SIEM service built on Elastic's platform, CISA is setting a new standard for speed, scale, and collective defense across civilian agencies."

The CISA Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program Management Office will oversee hosting and operations of the SIEMaaS environment, including infrastructure, data pipelines, and threat detection engines. The program runs through a base year and four option years ending in 2030.

The platform uses the Elasticsearch Platform to manage both structured and unstructured data for large-scale data ingestion, threat analytics, and incident response across the participating agencies.
