Dyadic International, Inc. (NASDAQ: DYAI), operating as Dyadic Applied BioSolutions, announced the expansion of its bio-industrial pipeline with a new proprietary industrial enzyme program focused on advanced cellulose processing.
The program follows the commercialization of EN3ZYME™, Dyadic's first proprietary bio-industrial enzyme product developed in collaboration with Fermbox Bio. The new enzyme is designed for applications including pulp biorefining, microcrystalline cellulose production, and nanocellulose production.
Dyadic said the program utilizes its Dapibus™ microbial expression platform, which uses a single microbial production strain. The company stated this approach is intended to streamline development timelines and reduce manufacturing complexity compared to traditional multi-strain systems.
The program will move into further optimization, pilot-scale production, and customer evaluation. Dyadic said it plans to pursue commercialization through direct product sales, collaborations, contract manufacturing, and technology licensing.
"Following the launch of EN3ZYME™, we continue to leverage the Dapibus™ platform to develop differentiated enzyme solutions for attractive industrial markets," said Joe Hazelton, President and Chief Operating Officer of Dyadic Applied BioSolutions.
The Jupiter, Florida-based company said its cellulose-related enzyme focus targets end markets including pulp and paper, as well as segments such as renewable biofuels, biobased chemicals, and specialty cellulose derivatives.
