Dolphin Entertainment's (NASDAQ: DLPN) subsidiary The Door managed strategic communications for Hooters during the restaurant chain's ownership transition, the company announced.
The Door developed messaging around Hooters' return to ownership by its original founding members and executed media outreach across business and lifestyle publications. The campaign generated coverage in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, Yahoo Finance, People Magazine, and Restaurant Business.
The communications effort focused on explaining the ownership change and the brand's direction under CEO Neil Kiefer's leadership. The Door coordinated both traditional media relations and social media engagement, including responses to viral social media moments.
"This was about striking the right balance-serious strategy with a sense of humor," said Michela DellaMonica, Associate Vice President at The Door. "The brand's openness and clarity set the foundation, and through The Door we were able to amplify that story, protect the brand's equity, and show the market that Hooters is both well-run and culturally relevant."
The Door, acquired by Dolphin in 2018, operates as an integrated marketing and public relations agency serving lifestyle, hospitality, and entertainment clients. Dolphin Entertainment functions as both a venture studio and marketing consortium, housing multiple agencies including 42West, Shore Fire Media, and Elle Communications.
The information comes from a company press release statement.
