Dime Community Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: DCOM) announced executive succession changes as Conrad Gunther plans to retire at the end of 2025 after eight years with the company.
Thomas X. Geisel will assume Gunther's responsibilities and receive the appointment as Chief Commercial Officer. Geisel joined Dime in February as part of the succession planning process.
Avi Reddy, currently serving as Chief Financial Officer, will take on the additional title of Chief Operating Officer while maintaining his CFO duties. Reddy's responsibilities expanded in 2024 to include oversight of client-facing deposit businesses, the branch network, municipal banking, private client groups, and treasury management.
"Conrad has had a long and successful career, spanning over 50 years, as a commercial banker in the Greater Long Island marketplace," said Stuart H. Lubow, President and CEO of Dime. "Since joining Dime in 2017, Conrad's acumen, experience, dedication, and hard work have been critical in transforming the Company into a diversified commercial bank."
Gunther will transition his responsibilities to Geisel over the coming months. The succession plan began earlier this year when company leadership started planning for Gunther's retirement.
Dime Community Bancshares operates as the holding company for Dime Community Bank, a New York State-chartered trust company with over $14 billion in assets. The bank reports holding the top deposit market share among community banks on Greater Long Island.
