Cryo-Cell International Inc. (NYSE American: CCEL) announced it has received renewed Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy accreditation for cord blood collection, banking, and release operations. The accreditation extends through April 3, 2029.

The company first received FACT accreditation in 2014. The renewal confirms Cryo-Cell's compliance with NetCord-FACT Standards for Cord Blood Banking, which the company describes as internationally recognized quality standards in cellular therapy.

FACT accreditation requires on-site inspection by experts, documentation review, and demonstrated compliance across collection, processing, testing, storage, and release protocols. The standards are used by transplant and cancer centers when selecting cord blood units from public banks.

"FACT accreditation is the standard used by the world's leading transplant centers for evaluating public cord blood banks," said David Portnoy, Co-CEO of Cryo-Cell International. "Earning and renewing this credential for private banking demonstrates that the Company operates at that same level of rigor."

The Oldsmar, Florida-based company operates as a private cord blood bank and claims to be the first U.S. private cord blood bank to receive FACT accreditation. The company also holds FDA registration, cGMP and cGTP compliance, AABB accreditation as a cord blood banking facility, and state licenses where required.

Cryo-Cell stores more than 250,000 cord blood and cord tissue specimens and operates a public banking program in partnership with Duke University. The company holds exclusive rights to PrepaCyte-CB, an FDA 510k cord blood processing technology.

The information is based on a company press release.
