Coherent launches optical network testing instruments

Coherent Corp. (NYSE: COHR) introduced two optical network testing instruments on September 17, 2025. The company released the WaveAnalyzer 200B Portable Optical Spectrum Analyzer and the WaveShaper 500B/X Programmable Optical Filter.

The WaveAnalyzer 200B operates on battery power and performs up to two full sweeps per second across the Super C-Band with 650 MHz resolution bandwidth. The portable analyzer is designed for lab research, system installation, and field maintenance applications.

The WaveShaper 500B/X covers more than 12.4 THz of spectrum across Super C- and L-Bands for optical transceiver testing. The instrument has a loading time of less than 100 milliseconds and targets production testing environments.

"These new instruments build on Coherent's proven leadership in optical network test and measurement," said Dr. Ralf Stolte, Sr. Sales and Marketing Manager. "By combining accuracy, speed, and portability, they enable our customers to keep pace with the demands of next-generation communications."

The WaveAnalyzer 200B succeeds the WaveAnalyzer 200A and will begin shipping in November 2025. The WaveShaper 500B/X uses Coherent's Liquid Crystal on Silicon platform. Both products will be displayed at ECOC 2025 in Copenhagen, Denmark, from September 29 to October 1, 2025.

Coherent, founded in 1971, operates in more than 20 countries and provides photonics technology for datacenter, communications, and industrial markets.
