Callan JMB launches pharmaceutical campus in Alabama
Callan JMB Inc. (NASDAQ: CJMB) announced the launch of Atlas Complex, a planned 150-acre pharmaceutical and logistics campus in Marion, Alabama. The facility is designed to support pharmaceutical onshoring and domestic supply chain operations.
The company will partner with Monarch Property Management to activate and manage the multi-use campus, which will be located on a historic site with existing infrastructure. Callan JMB plans to seek Foreign-Trade Zone subzone designation for the facility.
Atlas Complex is intended to provide integrated services including early-stage production, quality assurance, quality control, cold-chain logistics, and domestic distribution capabilities. The campus will feature laboratories, clean rooms, secure warehousing with cold chain capacity, and manufacturing support infrastructure.
The company expects the facility to generate revenue through subleasing, facilities management, and professional services. Atlas Complex is projected to create approximately 250-300 jobs in Marion over time.
"Atlas Complex positions Callan JMB at the center of pharmaceutical onshoring and domestic supply chain expansion," said Wayne Williams, CEO of Callan JMB. "We are developing a top of the line, scalable campus that enables global companies to establish U.S.-based operations more efficiently."
The press release noted that approximately 10% of active pharmaceutical ingredients used in U.S. prescription drugs are currently produced domestically, with over 50% of pharmaceuticals and 80% of generic drugs being imported.
Callan JMB operates as an integrative logistics company providing fulfillment, storage, monitoring, and cold chain logistics services to healthcare and emergency management sectors.
