CLEAR develops identity verification for Epic EpicCare Link platform

August 7, 2025 6:00 AM EDT

CLEAR (NYSE: YOU) announced it is developing an identity verification integration for Epic's EpicCare Link platform to support community-based healthcare providers and affiliated staff. The integration aims to streamline account creation and recovery workflows for distributed care teams.

The development builds on CLEAR's previously announced integration with Epic's MyChart patient platform, which is scheduled for availability with Epic's November 2025 version. Both integrations are currently under construction in Epic's Toolbox category.

The EpicCare Link integration targets manual identity verification processes that healthcare systems currently use when onboarding outside providers and affiliates. CLEAR's solution embeds identity verification directly into EpicCare Link workflows, allowing users to verify identity through a self-service process.

"Our mission has always been to replace friction with trust," said David Bardan, General Manager and Head of Healthcare at CLEAR. "With this integration, we're bringing that vision to the provider experience, helping healthcare organizations deliver secure, seamless access for the entire care team."

The planned integration supports IAL2 standards and other verification protocols while integrating into existing Epic workflows. CLEAR reports having more than 33 million members across its platform.

Pranav Jain, Chief Health Information Officer at Wellstar Health System, commented on the company's current use of CLEAR technology: "We are seeing remarkable progress in streamlining the patient check-in experience leveraging CLEAR's integration with Epic."

The announcement was made through a press release statement. Epic and EpicCare Link are registered trademarks of Epic Systems Corporation.
