Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) announced a strategic investment in PDW, a Huntsville, Alabama-based company that designs and manufactures unmanned aerial systems for defense and public safety applications.

PDW operates a 90,000-square-foot drone manufacturing facility in Huntsville with capacity to produce 100,000 drones annually. The company focuses on domestically produced drone platforms for surveillance, contested environment operations, and strike missions.

The investment aligns with Pentagon priorities for domestic drone manufacturing and autonomous capabilities at scale. PDW designs, engineers, and produces systems within the United States, supporting the Department of Defense's domestic manufacturing objectives.

"Drones are rapidly reshaping the speed, scale, and economics of modern warfare," said Randy Yamada, vice president at Booz Allen. "Our investment in PDW reflects a shared focus on accelerating the deployment of mission-ready, resilient, American-manufactured drone capabilities."

PDW CEO James Slider stated the company aims to expand American manufacturing capacity and scale engineering teams while anchoring supply chains domestically.

The partnership enables Booz Allen to apply its autonomy and digital engineering expertise to develop solutions that reduce operator burden. Booz Allen plans to integrate its artificial intelligence and autonomy capabilities with PDW's manufacturing platform.

This investment joins Booz Allen's existing partnerships with Shield AI and Amazon Web Services, plus investments through Booz Allen Ventures in autonomy-focused companies including Firestorm, Scout AI, and Ulysses.

Booz Allen employs approximately 31,600 people globally and reported $12.0 billion in revenue for the 12 months ended March 31, 2025, according to the company's press release.
