Avangrid (AGR) Appoints Nelly Jefferson as CIO

Avangrid, Inc. (NYSE: AGR) announced today the appointment of Nelly Jefferson to Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective September 16.

In joining the company, her priority will be to ensure reliable, top quality IT service delivery for all of our operating companies and businesses. Jefferson brings to Avangrid more than 25 years of experience in the information technology field and a deep understanding of the energy industry having previously led technology for RWE Clean Energy and ConEdison. Her record of success includes developing IT transformational strategies and associated implementation plans at scale to drive enterprise business capabilities to achieve customer satisfaction and enhance business value to drive competitive advantage.
In her new role as CIO, Jefferson will oversee all Avangrid information technology strategies and associated activities across the company’s entire enterprise, including IT applications, infrastructure and business operations. She will be responsible for a staff of more than 140 employees and external service and technology providers. Her focus will be on developing solid IT digital and innovation capabilities to deliver smart solutions for all Avangrid customers and employees.
Jefferson has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Montclair State University and a master’s degree in management information systems from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
