Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (NYSE: AJG) announced the acquisition of B&W Insurance Agency, Inc., a Washington, Pennsylvania-based insurance brokerage. The company disclosed the transaction on Feb. 17 but did not reveal financial terms.
B&W Insurance Agency provides personal lines and commercial brokerage services to clients in southwest Pennsylvania. The acquired firm's leadership team, including Paul Barzd III and Jim Cote, will continue operating from their current location under Gallagher Select, the company's U.S. property/casualty operations division for small businesses and personal insurance.
J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., said B&W Insurance Agency has a strong local reputation and will deepen the company's brokerage capabilities for small businesses.
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. operates as a global insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting services firm headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The company provides services in approximately 130 countries through owned operations and a network of correspondent brokers and consultants.
