Arlo launches solar-powered security camera at $99.99

Arlo Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ARLO) has introduced the Essential Solar Security Camera, priced at $99.99, featuring an integrated solar panel and a 14,790mAh battery the company describes as category-leading. According to a company press release, the camera can operate for up to six months without sunlight when fully charged and requires as little as two hours of sunlight per day to maintain power, though the company notes battery life will vary with settings, use, activity, and environment.

The camera records 2K video at 24 frames per second with a 130-degree field of view and includes color night vision with an integrated white LED spotlight. It supports dual-band Wi-Fi, two-way audio, a built-in siren, and carries an IP65 weather-resistance rating. The device is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, IFTTT, and Samsung SmartThings.

Additional features include flexible DIY mounting with three mounting holes and an ultra-slim design. When paired with an Arlo Secure Early Warning System subscription plan, the camera gains access to AI-powered features including Threat Assessment, Event Captions, and Arlo Summary. Three subscription tiers are available: Smart Aware, Smart Secure, and Ultra Secure.

The camera is available in black and white. Pre-orders are open, with shipments expected to begin in mid-October 2026.
