It looks like Tuesday, October 4 will be the day Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) new iPhone 5 will be announced.
AllThingsD reported this is the day that Apple will host its next big media event, citing sources close to the situation.
While there has been many conflicting reports about the timing of the iPhone 5 release, an October 4 would fall inline with many prior expectations.
The new phone will be available to be purchased within a few weeks after the announcement.
Another notable from the upcoming event will be new CEO Tim Cook officially doing the unveiling, with Steve Jobs stepping down from the top spot in August.
