Agility Robotics announced plans to open a 50,000-square-foot facility in Pittsburgh, expanding its existing footprint in the city by approximately 35,000 square feet. The company said the site will serve as its software and AI center of excellence and a hub for customer deployment and support teams.
According to a press release, the facility will house teams responsible for Digit robot fleet support, new robot deployment, workflow validation, skill development and robot service and repair. Agility said it plans to hire software engineers, AI engineers, service technicians and deployment specialists in Pittsburgh, with first employee access to the new facility expected by the end of 2026.
The Pittsburgh site will also serve as Agility's East Coast service center, complementing its existing RoboFab manufacturing facility in Salem, Oregon, and its hardware development office in Fremont, California.
Agility said its Digit humanoid robot is currently deployed with GXO, Schaeffler and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada. The company also announced four additional customers across the automotive, consumer goods and agriculture sectors, including a pilot with AGCO, an agricultural machinery company. Agility said it has secured more than $300 million in multi-year orders for Digit 5, subject to contractual milestones.
"Scaling humanoid robotics means building the infrastructure to support robots throughout their entire working life," said Peggy Johnson, CEO of Agility Robotics.
Agility is preparing to go public through a business combination with Churchill Capital Corp XI (Nasdaq: CCXI). The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, after which the combined company is expected to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol "AGLT."
