September 25, 2025 6:30 AM EDT

VIAVI Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAV) announced the expansion of its ONE LabPro testing and validation platform with the introduction of the ONE-1600ER module for 1.6Tb optical component testing.

The ONE-1600ER module provides full Ethernet support based on the 802.3dj specification, including 1.6Tb and 8x200G testing capabilities for analyzing 200G lanes at 224G SERDES. The module offers native support for Riding Heat Sink OSFP 1600G modules and includes RFC2544 for performance testing.

The solution supports electrical and optical configurations including DAC, AOC, AEC, and ACC, along with power and cooling management for next-generation 1.6Tb coherent modules such as 1600ZR and 1600LR/ER. The platform includes inter-sublayer link training and symbol muxing features specified in 802.3dj.

"VIAVI was first to market with a 1.6Tb solution, and over the past year, the ONE-1600 has remained the only test tool to successfully complete interoperability test against all known 200G/lane gearboxes and more than ten module vendors," said Tom Fawcett, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Lab and Production, VIAVI.

VIAVI also announced enhancements to its MAP-300 platform, including a High Density Variable Attenuator with 12 channels and millisecond response time, PM-Fiber Optical Switching for polarization maintaining fiber applications, and FiberChek ULTRA Connector Inspection improvements for new connector types.

The company will display the ONE-1600 and MAP-300 platforms at ECOC 2025 from September 29 to October 1 in Copenhagen, Denmark. VIAVI will also demonstrate PCIe 6.0 interoperability over optical links in collaboration with Alphawave Semi.

The information is based on a company press release.
