Thinkific launches Thinker AI assistant for online learning support

Thinkific Labs Inc. (TSX: THNC) announced the launch of Thinker, an AI teaching assistant designed to provide personalized learner support for online education platforms. The Vancouver-based learning commerce platform company said the AI tool will be available beginning February 24, 2026.

Thinker operates by learning from proprietary course content and materials to deliver contextual recommendations and instant responses to learner questions. The AI assistant integrates directly into the Thinkific platform and functions around the clock to support students without requiring additional staff.

"One of the most persistent challenges education businesses face is maintaining high-quality learner support while scaling," said Greg Smith, CEO of Thinkific. "Thinker is designed to address this by providing AI-assisted support that can respond to learner questions around the clock, drawing from your proprietary content, media, courses and other assets to deliver contextual answers without requiring additional staff."

The company stated that customers retain full ownership of their content and that Thinkific does not use customer data to train large language models. Content is used only within the platform to power the intended experience.

Thinker is included with Thinkific Plus plans and operates on a credit-based model with monthly credits included and options for higher usage. The AI assistant offers customizable tone settings to align with business branding.

Learn Tourism, which offers over 145 courses on Thinkific, is among the early customers using the AI assistant. "Thinker helps us amplify the learner experience, supporting self-discovery, responding with a more personal tone, and engaging people in ways that reflect how they actually learn," said Stephen Ekstrom, CEO of Learn Tourism.

Thinkific serves more than 35,000 customers including companies such as GoDaddy and Nasdaq, according to the company statement.
