Tempus AI Inc. (NASDAQ: TEM) announced an expanded multi-year collaboration with Merck to accelerate biomarker discovery and development for precision medicine applications in oncology and other therapeutic areas.

Under the agreement, Merck will access Tempus' de-identified multimodal datasets through the company's Lens Platform and Workspaces environment. The platform utilizes GPU infrastructure to enable researchers to conduct analyses on training-ready datasets for therapy development and optimization.

Merck will use the technology to support its precision oncology strategy through AI and machine learning applications aimed at discovering biomarkers, identifying cancer cell resistance mechanisms, and informing drug combinations in early pipeline development.

"The combination of new AI technologies and large curated multimodal data sets are transforming the way we conduct discovery research," said George Addona, Senior Vice President of Discovery, Preclinical Development and Translational Medicine at Merck Research Laboratories.

Tempus operates as a technology company focused on precision medicine through artificial intelligence applications in healthcare.
