Sun Life partners with AI platform Pasito for benefits enrollment

Sun Life U.S. announced that its benefits will be available through Pasito, an AI-powered benefits education and communication platform, starting January 1, 2026. The partnership aims to improve the employee benefits enrollment experience through enhanced decision support tools.

Pasito utilizes real-time data connections with more than 200 payroll administrators and analyzes factors including financial capabilities, dependents, and eligibility to inform benefits decisions. The platform reads plan documents directly to deliver personalized plan information to employees.

"The benefits landscape is complex, and people want support in choosing a benefits package that complements their health insurance to give them the care and coverage they need," said Joi Tillman, president of Group Benefits at Sun Life U.S.

According to Limra's Benefit Employee Attitude Tracker report, while more than 50% of employees felt they understood dental, medical, retirement, and life insurance extremely well, fewer than 50% had similar understanding of short- and long-term disability and supplemental health coverages like accident, hospital and critical illness insurance.

The platform provides microsites and automated communications customized for each employer's brand and can link directly to their chosen enrollment platform. Sun Life group policyholders can be referred to Pasito beginning January 1, 2026, though they must contract directly with Pasito to access its services.

Sun Life Financial Inc. (NYSE: SLF) trades on the Toronto, New York and Philippine stock exchanges. As of September 30, 2025, Sun Life had total assets under management of C$1.62 trillion. Sun Life U.S. serves approximately 50 million Americans through employee and government benefits programs.
