Rogers Communications Inc. (NYSE: RCI) launched Amazon Luna cloud gaming service on its Rogers Xfinity entertainment platform, the company announced December 11.
The service allows customers to play games directly through their television without requiring gaming consoles or downloads. Amazon Luna became immediately available on Rogers Xfinity Streaming devices, with plans to expand to additional Rogers Xfinity Entertainment customers in 2026.
Customers with Amazon Prime memberships or Luna Premium subscriptions can access more than 100 cloud-based games through eligible Rogers Xfinity devices. Prime members gain access to over 50 games including titles such as Hogwarts Legacy and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
"With Amazon Luna, Rogers Xfinity customers can game, stream and catch their favourite shows and movies all on one platform," said Bret Leech, President, Residential, Rogers.
Users can activate the service by saying "Luna" into their Rogers Xfinity voice remote and signing in with their Amazon account. The games stream without requiring downloads, and players can use Bluetooth-enabled controllers or Amazon Luna Controllers. For certain GameNight titles, smartphones can serve as controllers through QR code scanning.
The integration adds cloud gaming to Rogers Xfinity's existing entertainment offerings, which include live television, on-demand content, and streaming applications. The platform operates on Comcast's Entertainment OS system.
According to Rogers, more than 70% of Canadians play video games, citing research from Mintel published in March 2025.
