Plug Power CEO to host Reddit AMA ahead of special shareholder meeting

Plug Power Inc. (NASDAQ: PLUG) announced that Chief Executive Officer Andy Marsh will participate in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session on January 22, 2026, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. ET. The session will take place on the Reddit forum r/plugpowerstock.

The AMA is scheduled ahead of Plug Power's Special Meeting of Stockholders on January 29, 2026. The meeting will address proposals including an amendment to increase authorized shares of common stock and modernize the company's voting standards to align with Delaware corporate law.

At the company's 2025 Annual Meeting, approximately 84% of votes cast supported increasing authorized shares, but the proposal failed to pass due to charter requirements mandating approval by a majority of outstanding shares entitled to vote rather than just votes cast.

The company stated that if the share increase proposal is not approved at the special meeting, it would proceed with a reverse stock split. The board characterized the authorized share increase as necessary to provide flexibility for meeting financial obligations and supporting business operations.

Marsh has served as CEO since April 2008 and will transition to Executive Chairman in March 2026, when Jose Luis Crespo assumes the CEO role. The company plans to host a second Reddit AMA in March 2026 with Crespo focusing on 2025 results.

The AMA aims to address questions about the special meeting, explain the board's rationale for the proposals, and clarify voting procedures and meeting logistics, according to the company's statement.
