Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ: PANW) announced Prisma SASE 4.0, a secure access service edge solution that includes Prisma Access Browser designed to protect against web-based threats within browsers. The company stated the new product addresses security gaps in traditional secure web gateways by intercepting encrypted attacks that assemble inside browsers.
The cybersecurity company reported SASE annual recurring revenue of $1.3 billion in fiscal year 2025, representing 35% year-over-year growth. Palo Alto Networks said it serves over 6,300 SASE customers, including one-third of the Fortune 500 companies, with Prisma Access Browser reaching 6 million licensed seats.
Prisma SASE 4.0 features AI-augmented data classification technology that the company claims produces 10 times fewer false positives than traditional methods. The platform includes over 140 pre-trained machine learning classifiers and customizable models for protecting sensitive information across various formats.
The solution also introduces Private App Security, which automatically updates security policies for dynamic private applications. According to the company, this addresses limitations of static rule-based web application firewalls against custom-built threats.
"The innovations in Prisma SASE 4.0, particularly our last-mile protections in the browser, are a direct response to the digital landscape, where AI-driven attacks and the widespread adoption of AI tools are making traditional security approaches obsolete," said Anand Oswal, Executive Vice President of Network Security at Palo Alto Networks.
Gartner has named Palo Alto Networks a Leader in its Magic Quadrant for SASE Platforms for three consecutive years. The company has also received Leader designations for Security Service Edge for three years and SD-WAN for five years.
The new capabilities will become generally available later this year, according to the press release statement.
