Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ: PANW) announced the launch of Cortex AgentiX, an artificial intelligence platform designed to build, deploy and manage AI agents for enterprise security operations. The platform represents the next generation of the company's Cortex XSOAR product.
According to the company's press release, AgentiX aims to reduce mean time to resolution by up to 98% while decreasing manual work by 75% in security operations centers. The platform includes prebuilt AI agents for threat intelligence, email investigation, endpoint investigation, network security, cloud security and IT operations.
"Unleashing autonomous agents without tight control is a recipe for disaster," said Gonen Fink, executive vice president of products for Cortex at Palo Alto Networks. "That's why we built AgentiX on our proven Cortex platform, delivering the full power of agentic AI with the control, traceability and permission management every enterprise demands."
The platform incorporates over 1,000 prebuilt integrations and supports Model Context Protocol. It includes role-based access controls and requires human approval for certain actions. The system was developed using data from 1.2 billion playbook executions, according to the company.
Cortex AgentiX is currently available in Cortex Cloud and Cortex XSIAM. The company stated that Cortex XDR and a standalone AgentiX platform will become available in early 2026.
The announcement was made during Palo Alto Networks' Ignite event. Francis Odum, founder of Software Analyst Cyber Research, commented that the platform "stands apart by building its agentic workforce on Palo Alto Networks existing SecOps backbone and a decade of SOAR maturity."
