MicroVision, Inc. (Nasdaq: MVIS) announced it has received multiple purchase orders for its IRIS long-range lidar sensors from customers across North America and Europe, representing thousands of units for industrial and security and defense applications.
The Redmond, Washington-based company said the orders span applications including off-road autonomy, space systems, material handling, logistics, and robotics. The company described the orders as a mix of initial and repeat purchases, indicating customers are moving from evaluation and testing toward broader deployment.
"These orders reflect the commercial progression we have been working toward, moving from evaluation and validation to deployment and ultimately greater scale," said Glen DeVos, Chief Executive Officer of MicroVision. "Multiple customers across North America and Europe are committing to our technology, collectively representing thousands of IRIS sensors and providing a clear path toward HALO adoption and recurring revenue tied to our high-margin perception solution."
MicroVision said it has inventory available and expects deliveries to support near-term customer deployments. The company anticipates customers will begin migrating to its next-generation HALO lidar platform in the late-2027 to 2028 timeframe.
DeVos noted that customers have invested time and resources integrating IRIS into their platforms, and the product roadmap from IRIS to HALO is designed to allow them to preserve that investment during the transition.
The company said the orders also reflect an expansion beyond automotive markets into industrial and security and defense sectors. MicroVision has engineering centers in the United States and Germany.
