LendingClub Corporation (NYSE: LC) announced its expansion into home improvement financing through a partnership with Wisetack, a financing platform for contractors and home service providers.
The partnership will provide LendingClub access to Wisetack's network of approximately 40,000 contractor merchants and embedded software partnerships in the home improvement sector. LendingClub plans to begin purchasing participation certificates from Wisetack's loan production in early 2026, followed by originating larger home improvement loans using its own underwriting model in mid-2026.
"We're excited to extend our underwriting and customer experience advantages to home improvement, a $500 billion industry that's ripe for innovation," said Steve Mattics, Chief Lending Officer of LendingClub.
The expansion is supported by LendingClub's acquisition of lending technology and personnel from Mosaic, a former fintech lender that specialized in contractor-based lending. The company made the announcement ahead of its Investor Day in New York.
Through the partnership, LendingClub will offer consumers real-time approvals and financing terms for home improvement projects, while contractors will receive API-based payouts and streamlined financing processes.
Bobby Tzekin, founder and CEO of Wisetack, said the partnership combines LendingClub's underwriting capabilities with Wisetack's contractor network to create financing solutions for homeowners and contractors.
LendingClub operates as the parent company of LendingClub Bank, National Association, and provides consumer lending services through its digital platform. The company serves over 5 million members and uses data from tens of millions of repayment events for its underwriting models.
