Lattice Semiconductor launches AI-driven FPGA design tool

Lattice Semiconductor (NASDAQ: LSCC) has introduced Lattice Prompt, an AI-powered development tool for small and mid-range field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), according to a company press release.

The tool connects to large language models and agentic integrated development environments via open Model Context Protocol, allowing developers to use natural language inputs across the full FPGA design flow, including simulation, synthesis, map, place and route, timing analysis, and bitstream generation. It operates by orchestrating Lattice Radiant design software in the background.

Lattice Prompt is built on Lattice's documentation, datasheets, and knowledge base. The company claims the tool can deliver productivity gains of 10x or more on common design tasks. It is compatible with agentic IDEs including Claude Code, Cursor, and Visual Studio Code.

Lattice Prompt is available as a free download and is compatible with the latest release of Lattice Radiant design software.
