Huize Holding Limited (NASDAQ: HUIZ) announced that its subsidiary Poni Financial Advisory Pte. Ltd. has received a Financial Adviser and Exempt Insurance Broker license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, effective July 10, 2025.
The license supports Huize's dual-hub strategy spanning Singapore and Hong Kong through its international brand Poni Insurtech. The company operates across Hong Kong, Singapore and Vietnam, providing technology for embedded insurance, independent financial adviser platforms and comparison marketplaces.
Poni's platform combines regulated advisory services with cloud APIs, AI-assisted consultation and claims automation. The technology aims to facilitate digital distribution for insurers, independent financial advisers, platforms and affinity partners.
"Securing the MAS licence is a pivotal step in our international expansion," said Ron Tam, International CEO at Poni Insurtech and Co-CFO at Huize Holding Limited. "With Singapore and Hong Kong as twin hubs, we are positioned to serve sophisticated clients across the region with trusted advice and technology at scale."
Cassandra Wee, Managing Director at Poni Insurtech Singapore and Executive Director at Poni Financial Advisory, said the Singapore platform combines licensed advisory with Poni's insurtech technology stack to enable partners to deliver protection and wealth solutions through omni-channel distribution.
Huize operates as an insurance technology platform connecting consumers, insurance carriers and distribution partners in Asia through data-driven and AI-powered solutions. The company targets mass affluent consumers and offers insurance products through an online-to-offline integrated ecosystem.
The Singapore license adds to Poni's existing operations as it expands its presence in the ASEAN market through its established hubs in Singapore and Hong Kong.
