December 22, 2025 12:02 PM EST

FanDuel and CME Group (NASDAQ: CME) launched FanDuel Predicts, a prediction markets platform, in Alabama, Alaska, South Carolina, North Dakota and South Dakota on December 22. The platform represents the beginning of a phased national rollout planned through early 2026.

FanDuel Predicts allows customers to buy or sell event contracts priced between $0.01 and $0.99 by selecting "Yes" if they believe an event will occur or "No" if they do not. The mobile application requires customers to complete FanDuel's verification process, including submission of birth date, Social Security number, home address, banking information and government-issued identification.

The platform offers event contracts on financial benchmarks including the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100, oil and gas prices, gold, cryptocurrencies, and economic indicators such as GDP and CPI across all 50 states. Sports contracts covering baseball, basketball, football and hockey will be available in states where online sports betting remains illegal, excluding tribal lands. FanDuel Predicts will discontinue sports event contracts in states as they legalize online sports betting.

"We're giving our customers a new platform to engage with the world around them - whether that's the next Fed rate decision or a sports event," said James Cooper, Senior Vice President, Flywheel and New Ventures at FanDuel.

"CME Group prediction markets will enable a new generation of users to express their views on global benchmarks, economic indicators, sports and more," said Lynne Fitzpatrick, President and Chief Financial Officer at CME Group.

The platform includes consumer protection features such as deposit limits, deposit alerts and self-exclusion options, with mental health services provided by Kindbridge Behavior Health. FanDuel is part of Flutter Entertainment (NYSE: FLUT, LSE: FLTR).
