Caliber to use Chainlink infrastructure for real estate tokenization
Caliber (Nasdaq: CWD), a real estate-focused alternative asset manager based in Scottsdale, Ariz., announced it is expanding its real estate fund tokenization strategy using Chainlink's compliance and distribution infrastructure, according to a press release.
The company said it has invested in LINK, the token underlying the Chainlink platform, and is working to apply Chainlink-enabled infrastructure within its existing real estate investment platform. Caliber said the focus is on meeting compliance, onboarding, and distribution requirements for tokenized private funds.
Central to the effort is Chainlink's Automated Compliance Engine (ACE), which connects identity verification, policy enforcement, compliance monitoring, and reporting across digital asset workflows. Caliber said ACE addresses barriers related to investor verification, eligibility rules, transaction monitoring, and auditability.
"Tokenization matters if it makes real investing better," said Chris Loeffler, Chief Executive Officer of Caliber. "For private real estate funds and REITs that means solving for the industry's two biggest challenges: valuation and liquidity. We view Chainlink's platform, including ACE, as critical infrastructure moving tokenized real estate from theory to practical implementation."
Liam Karwan, Head of RWAs and Stablecoins at Chainlink Labs, said the platform provides "the compliance and interoperability infrastructure needed to bring tokenized real-world assets into production across global capital markets."
Caliber said its tokenization roadmap will begin with selected investments it considers suited for the approach, including a project to construct what the company describes as the largest indoor Pickleball and Padel facility in the United States.
Caliber reported it manages over $2.6 billion in assets and has a 17-year track record in middle-market hospitality and multifamily real estate investing. The company said its publicly traded equity provides exposure to both its real estate platform and its digital asset holdings.
