CI Global Asset Management announced an agreement to acquire management agreements for Invesco's Canadian fund business, which manages approximately C$26 billion in assets.

Under the terms disclosed in a press release, CI GAM will become manager of 100 mutual funds and exchange-traded funds currently offered by Invesco Canada Ltd. The companies will also establish a strategic partnership where Invesco affiliates will continue providing portfolio management services to 63 funds through a sub-advisory arrangement, covering approximately C$13 billion in assets under management.

The transaction will increase CI GAM's assets under management to approximately C$170 billion. CI GAM is the Canadian asset management subsidiary of CI Financial Corp.

"This acquisition will cement our ranking as one of the largest investment fund companies in Canada and position the firm for continued growth," said Kurt MacAlpine, CI Chief Executive Officer.

Andrew Schlossberg, Chief Executive Officer of Invesco Ltd. (NYSE: IVZ), stated the partnership would allow continued service to Canadian investors while accessing CI GAM's distribution network and operating platform.

The transaction requires customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals and securityholder approval for each applicable Invesco Canada investment fund. The companies expect the deal to close in the second quarter of 2026.

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC serves as financial advisor to Invesco, while Jefferies Securities Inc. advises CI GAM. Invesco reported US$2.1 trillion in assets under management as of September 30, 2025.
