American Resources Corporation (NASDAQ: AREC) announced that Chairman and CEO Mark C. Jensen attended the American Mining Industry Roundtable hosted by President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Aug. 7, 2026, at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C.
The roundtable brought together leaders from the U.S. mining and critical minerals industries to discuss domestic and allied supply chains for minerals used in national security, defense, advanced manufacturing, semiconductors and energy infrastructure.
American Resources also disclosed that it was selected by the U.S. Department of Energy for award negotiations under a program aimed at expanding domestic capacity to recover rare earth elements and critical materials from coal and coal-based industrial feedstocks. The company did not specify the value of the potential award.
The company operates through its industrial platform, Electrified Materials Corporation, and holds a minority stake in ReElement Technologies Corporation, which the company describes as providing rare earth and critical mineral refining technologies capable of processing multiple feedstock types.
"The United States is making clear that critical minerals are a matter of national security, and we are proud to be part of the conversation," Jensen said in the statement. "Our focus has always been on solving the most difficult part of the critical mineral supply chain — transforming mineral resources and unconventional feedstocks into high-purity, separated materials that can be used by American manufacturers."
American Resources describes its business model as focused on integrating capabilities across feedstock origination, industrial processing and advanced refining, rather than traditional vertical integration across the full supply chain.
