Amdocs launches aOS operating system for telecom AI automation

February 3, 2026 4:18 PM EST

Amdocs (NASDAQ: DOX) announced the launch of aOS, an operating system designed to integrate artificial intelligence into telecommunications operations. The system operates on existing BSS/OSS infrastructure to automate workflows across telecom business processes.

The Jersey City-based software provider stated that aOS features three components: a Cognitive Core with pre-built telecom agent libraries, CES26 which enhances Amdocs' existing BSS and OSS suite with AI capabilities, and Agentic Operations services for managing AI-human workforces.

The system supports multiple large language models and includes partnerships with NVIDIA, Microsoft, Google, and AWS for platform integration. Amdocs indicated that aOS can operate across customer care, network operations, service orchestration, and revenue management functions.

"With aOS, we're introducing a new operating system for telecom, where AI redefines the art of the possible, creating new avenues for growth, elevating experiences, and powering breakthrough efficiencies," said Anthony Goonetilleke, Group President of Technology and Head of Strategy at Amdocs.

The company serves more than 350 telecommunications operators globally and processes billions of daily transactions. Amdocs reported revenue of $4.53 billion in fiscal 2025 according to the press release.

The announcement represents Amdocs' approach to embedding generative AI capabilities into telecommunications infrastructure rather than deploying AI as separate applications. The system aims to enable coordination between AI agents across different operational domains within telecom companies.
