AeroVironment Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV) announced a collaboration with OpenJAUS LLC to integrate the JAUS standard into its AV_Halo Command software platform for controlling uncrewed systems.

The partnership combines AV_Halo Command's modular software and application programming interfaces with OpenJAUS's software development kit to create a framework for uncrewed system and control system integration. The integration allows original equipment manufacturers to incorporate JAUS-compliant assets into their platforms.

AV_Halo Command currently works with more than 25 uncrewed systems from over a dozen manufacturers through integration with AeroVironment's Tomahawk Grip ground control system hardware. The software provides operators with a single interface for viewing and controlling multiple uncrewed systems.

"The modern battlespace is defined by speed, complexity, and connectivity—and winning it demands seamless interoperability, not proprietary silos," said Scott Bowman, Chief Technology Officer at AeroVironment. "Our collaboration with OpenJAUS reinforces AV's leadership in open-architecture design and our commitment to the Modular Open Systems Approach."

The platform currently integrates with systems from companies including Parrot, Teal, Ghost Robotics, Boston Dynamics, QinetiQ North America, Skydio, General Dynamics, BAE Systems, AeroVironment and DefendTex.

OpenJAUS, founded in 2006, provides JAUS-compliant middleware for uncrewed systems. The company's technology originated from research conducted for the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge by graduate researchers at the University of Florida.

The information is based on a press release statement from AeroVironment.
