Silver Keeps Going; iShares Silver Trust (SLV) Up 3%

With the surge in gold back above the $1400 level, speculators are also looking to its poorer cousin Silver.

Silver for March delivery last traded up $0.97 to $30.225. The day's range has been $29.28-$30.285.

While gold gets all the headlines, silver has actually preformed better this year. Both precious metals have seen massive interest as investors seek protection from a weakening dollar and possible future inflation.

ETF iShares Silver Trust (NYSE: SLV) is up 3.2 percent. Silver producer Silver Wheaton Corp. (NYSE: SLW) is up 4.6 percent.
