STG Group Expands Trading Operations With Launch of Broker-Dealer, STG Securities
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- STG Group, a multi-asset trading firm specializing in systematic and quantitative strategies, today announced the launch of its new broker dealer business division, STG Securities. The launch positions STG Group as a comprehensive electronic market maker and global trading firm.
Founded in 2022, STG Group has steadily expanded its trading operations across markets. In 2024, the firm acquired Automated Volatility Trading (AVT) – formerly a U.S. options group at Barclays and later part of GTS – to bolster its systematic options capabilities, consolidating AVT’s trading operations into STG Securities. STG Securities will build on the Group’s existing technology, quant expertise, and capital to provide competitive liquidity across exchanges and partnerships.
STG Securities is led by Kirill Gelman, who has overseen the strategy for over 20 years at the aforementioned predecessor firms.
STG Group supplies risk-bearing capital and advanced quantitative methodologies to identify and manage opportunities in real time, while STG Securities will contribute deep market expertise and provide liquidity on-exchange to a range of market participants.
STG Group was established by principals at Squarepoint and is separate from its investment management business.
