Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope Strategically Aligns Glass Manufacturing Network
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope (OBE) today announced a strategic realignment of its glass manufacturing network designed to concentrate resources in key regional facilities, strengthen capabilities and position the company to better support customers as market needs evolve.
As part of the realignment, OBE will transition glass operations at its Miami South, Florida, and Grand Prairie, Texas facilities to established regional locations with the capacity, expertise and resources to support customers across both markets. OBE is also investing additional resources in the receiving facilities to support a smooth transition, maintain service continuity and ensure customers continue to have access to the products, capabilities and support they rely on.
“We are always looking at how we can operate more effectively and better serve our customers,” said Mark Adamson, Chief Executive Officer of Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope. “That includes making decisions about where we invest, how we use our resources and how we bring the strengths of our network together. These changes allow us to build on the capabilities we already have while continuing to support the customers and markets that count on us.”
Connecting Capabilities Across the Southeast
Miami South’s glass fabrication operations will transition to OBE’s established Southeast network, including Miami North, Covington, Georgia, and Coral Industries in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Coral’s 210,000-square-foot manufacturing facility adds significant fabrication capabilities to the network, including CNC cutting, custom shape fabrication, edging, beveling, and tempering.
Together, these facilities combine broad manufacturing capabilities and specialized expertise to serve customers across Florida and the Southeast. By connecting its family of brands, OBE is expanding its regional reach, increasing access to fabrication capabilities and creating a stronger network that uses resources more efficiently.
The Strength of an Entire Network in Texas
In Texas, Grand Prairie’s glass operations will transition to OBE’s recently expanded Houston facility, building on existing manufacturing capabilities and recent investments in the region.
The combined Houston operation brings glass and metal capabilities together under one roof, offering laminated, insulating and tempered glass products alongside standard metal frames, CRL hardware and glazing supplies, and Coral shower door products.
Customers also benefit from coordinated jobsite delivery and a single Will Call location, making it easier to access products and services.
OBE’s commitment to Texas extends well beyond one facility. The company maintains an established network of manufacturing, fabrication and distribution operations across the state, including its expanded Houston facility, Terrell Standard Products, US Aluminum in Waxahachie, the Dallas CRL Service Center and two additional metal service centers serving Dallas and surrounding markets. Each location brings distinct capabilities and expertise to the network. Together, they give customers access to a broader range of products, expanded manufacturing resources and stronger local support. Rather than relying on the capabilities of a single facility, customers benefit from the combined strength, resources and expertise of OBE’s entire Texas network.
“We have strong people, facilities and expertise across this business. Our opportunity is to bring those strengths together and build on them,” said Adamson. “By connecting our teams, capabilities and resources, we will operate as one powerful network, deliver greater value to our customers and unlock significant new growth. That’s what we’re building—a more connected, capable and competitive business, positioned to continue to lead our industry.”
Building on the Strength of OBE
Looking ahead, OBE remains focused on strengthening its manufacturing and service network and investing in the markets, facilities and capabilities that deliver the greatest value for customers. With expanded resources in Houston, significant fabrication capabilities across its Southeast network and experienced teams throughout the organization, OBE is positioned to meet evolving market needs and continue serving as the trusted partner customers rely on.
