Kevin Dean named Chief Executive Officer, Jordan Schwann named President, and Matt Reynolds named Chief Growth Officer, as co-founder Douglas Brown moves into role of Chairman

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Newport Private Wealth (“Newport”), one of Canada's leading private wealth management firms dedicated to serving high- and ultra-high-net-worth families, today announced a planned leadership transition. Douglas Brown, one of Newport's three founders, will move into the role of Chairman, with Kevin Dean appointed Chief Executive Officer, Jordan Schwann appointed President, and Matt Reynolds appointed Chief Growth Officer.

This transition reflects years of deliberate succession planning and comes as Newport marks its 25th year in business. Dean, Schwann and Reynolds bring close to 50 years of combined experience at the firm, having grown as leaders alongside Newport and its executive team and steadily taken on greater responsibility in preparation for the roles they now assume.

“Watching Kevin, Jordan and Matt develop and grow as leaders within this firm has been immensely rewarding,” said Brown. “I have every confidence that Newport and its clients are in highly capable hands as the team continues helping families plan for their futures and build lasting legacies for generations to come.”

As Chairman, Brown will focus on Newport's long-term strategic direction, governance and key client relationships, while Dean, Schwann and Reynolds assume full operating authority for the firm. Mark Kinney, another of Newport's co-founders, continues to serve as Chief Investment Officer, preserving the same investment philosophy and approach clients have relied on for years.

The transition also comes several months after the retirement of David Lloyd, who built Newport's wealth planning practice as Chief Wealth Officer and stepped down at the end of June 2026, leaving behind a practice that has become a cornerstone of Newport's client offering.

Newport joined Wealthspire in 2025, adding capabilities including cross-border planning for families with assets on both sides of the border, family office services, and shared technology and reporting infrastructure. Newport's investment platform has remained its own throughout, and the firm continues to independently manage client portfolios from Canada.
