CHLA Supports State-Federal Standard for Hotel Fees
Aligning California with national legislation best for consumers
SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- On behalf of California’s more than 6,000 hotels and 235,000 hotel employees, the California Hotel and Lodging Association released the following statement about federal and state legislation governing hotel fees:
“We support a single national standard for hotels to disclose resort fees so our guests can simply and clearly see any costs associated with their stays,” said Lynn S. Mohrfeld, President and CEO of CHLA. “Although resort fees are no longer a common practice in California with only seven percent currently using them, fully disclosing any charges to guests should be seamless throughout the nation.”
