XTI Aerospace, Inc. (NASDAQ: XTIA) announced the appointment of Charlie Burgoyne to its corporate advisory board. Burgoyne serves as founder and CEO of artificial intelligence companies Valkyrie and Andromeda, which provide services to defense and Fortune 500 clients.
Burgoyne also serves as an advisor to the United States Central Command. In his new role, he will work with XTI on potential national security applications of the company's aviation technologies and systems.
The appointment adds to XTI's recent advisory board additions, including Hanna Tomory from Palantir Canada, Preston Dunlap, former Chief Technology Officer of the U.S. Space Force and Air Force, and Steve Griessel, former CEO of defense manufacturer Paramount Group.
XTI develops the TriFan 600, a fixed-wing business aircraft designed for vertical takeoff and landing capabilities. The aircraft is engineered to achieve maximum cruising speeds exceeding 300 mph and a range of nearly 1,000 miles.
"Charlie is helping to architect the AI-powered intelligence systems behind real-time decision making—on the battlefield and in the boardroom," said Scott Pomeroy, chairman and CEO of XTI Aerospace.
Burgoyne brings over 15 years of experience in artificial intelligence and data science across defense and commercial sectors. His background includes work with NASA, the United States Department of Energy, Rosetta Stone, and F1 Racing.
The company stated that Burgoyne's appointment supports its strategy to develop aircraft systems that integrate vertical agility with algorithmic intelligence for unmanned aircraft systems, regional transportation, and multi-use mission platforms.
XTI also operates an Inpixon business unit that provides real-time location systems technology to industrial facilities for operational optimization and safety enhancement.
