Walhalla Gold names Lisa Gibbons to its board of directors

Walhalla Gold Corp. (CSE: WAU) (OTCQB: WAUXF) has appointed Lisa Gibbons to its board of directors, according to a company statement.

Gibbons is a geologist with more than 35 years of experience in exploration, permitting, and stakeholder engagement in gold and critical minerals. She most recently served as General Manager and then Head of Community & External Affairs at Southern Cross Gold Consolidated Ltd., where she was involved in growing the company from a junior explorer to a dual-listed developer. Her responsibilities there included permitting for exploration activities within Victoria's approvals framework and supporting continuous disclosure across the ASX, TSX-V, and TSX.

Earlier in her career at Normandy Mining, Gibbons was part of exploration teams involved in the Oberon, Hyperion, and Groundrush orogenic gold discoveries in the Tanami region, as well as the discovery of McPhillamys in New South Wales. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geology with Honours and is a Fellow of the AusIMM.

Gibbons currently chairs the MCA Victoria Exploration Working Group and received the Exceptional Woman in Victorian Resources Award in 2022.

CEO Steve Jukes said the appointment brings the board to full strength, adding that Gibbons has "developed the expertise to advance a Victorian gold project from early discovery through to permitting and field activities."

Walhalla Gold holds the Walhalla Gold Project in Victoria, Australia, a district-scale project covering 1,230 km² of concessions.
