Vuzix Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI) announced that Alasdair J. MacKinnon has joined its board of directors, according to a company statement.
MacKinnon brings over 30 years of international finance and audit experience across the U.S. and Europe. He currently serves as managing director at Acclarity and previously held positions at Google, where he managed global internal audit teams, and Home Properties as vice president of internal audit. Earlier in his career, he worked at Global Crossing and in external audit roles with Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
MacKinnon holds a bachelor of accountancy from the University of Glasgow and is a chartered accountant and certified internal auditor. He will assume the role of chairperson of the audit committee.
The appointment follows the death of Edward W. Kay Jr., who had served on Vuzix's board since April 2016. Kay passed away in July 2025, and MacKinnon will take over his board responsibilities.
"We are honored to welcome Alasdair J. MacKinnon to the board," said Paul Travers, president and CEO of Vuzix. "At the same time, we mourn the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Ed Kay."
