Velocity Minerals appoints Artemis Gold's CFO to its board

Velocity Minerals Ltd. (TSXV: VLC) has appointed Erik Marchand to its board of directors, according to a press release. Marchand joins as the nominee of Artemis Gold Inc. under a strategic investment agreement between the two companies, replacing Gerrie van der Westhuizen, who resigned from the board effective October 1, 2026.

Marchand is a Chartered Professional Accountant with approximately 15 years of experience in finance and accounting within the mining and natural resources sectors. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of Artemis Gold Inc., having joined that company in September 2021 as Corporate Controller before advancing through roles including Vice President of Finance.

Prior to Artemis Gold, Marchand held senior finance positions at one of Glencore's international mining operations and other site-based roles in British Columbia. He began his career at Deloitte and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting.

Keith Henderson, Velocity's President and CEO, thanked van der Westhuizen for his service and said he looks forward to Marchand's contribution "as we continue to advance the Company."
