Valkea Resources Corp. (TSXV: OZ) (OTCQB: OZBKF) announced leadership changes designed to align its organizational structure with exploration activities in Finland, according to a company statement.

The board appointed Thomas Credland, previously company president, as chief executive officer and director effective immediately. Credland, a geologist with over 25 years of mining experience, has worked on exploration assets in Finland and is based in Europe.

Louis Archambeault, an independent director since 2018, was named interim chairman of the board.

Chris Donaldson stepped down as chief executive officer, director and chairman. The company said Donaldson was involved in acquiring the Finnish assets and delivered a portfolio for the next exploration phase.

Eric Zaunscherb and George Salamis will step down from the board as part of the transition to maintain a streamlined governance structure, the company said.

The board also appointed Dr. Chris Bonson as vice president of exploration. Bonson brings over 25 years of mineral exploration experience, including work in Finland, and will lead exploration programs with technical advisor Dr. Charlotte Seabrook.

"By moving leadership closer to the Company's asset base in Finland and adding technical expertise with strong local knowledge, Valkea is better able to execute its exploration strategy in a timely and cost-effective manner," Archambeault said.

Credland previously worked at Rupert Resources as head of corporate development, where he was involved in identifying and acquiring property in Northern Finland that led to the discovery of the 4 million ounce Ikkari Gold Project.

Valkea Resources focuses on gold exploration in Finland's Central Lapland Greenstone Belt with a 350 square kilometer land package in Northern Finland.
