Valero Energy adds LPL Financial's Matt Audette to its board

Valero Energy Corporation (NYSE: VLO) has elected Matt Audette as an independent director to its board of directors, also appointing him to the board's Audit Committee, according to a company statement.

Audette currently serves as President and Chief Financial Officer of LPL Financial Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: LPLA), where he oversees financial, risk, compliance, supervision, and client service and operations functions. Before joining LPL Financial, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of E*TRADE Financial Corporation.

Valero Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President Lane Riggs said in the statement: "We are very pleased to welcome Matt to our board. With over 15 years of experience as a public company CFO, Matt will complement and enhance the existing depth of financial and accounting expertise on our board."

Audette holds a B.S. in accounting from Virginia Tech and began his career in public accounting, auditing, and advising financial services clients.
