Valens Semiconductor adds Semtech COO Asaf Silberstein to its board

Valens Semiconductor (NYSE: VLN) has appointed Asaf Silberstein, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Semtech Corporation, to its Board of Directors, according to a company press release.

Silberstein has held senior leadership roles at Semtech since joining the company in 2010, becoming COO in March 2023. Before Semtech, he served as Vice President of Global Operations at Microsemi and spent seven years at PowerDsine, where he served as COO before the company was acquired by Microsemi. He has also held positions at 3Com and ECI Telecom.

Yoram Salinger, CEO of Valens Semiconductor, said in the statement: "Asaf understands the challenges and opportunities of taking differentiated semiconductor technologies into high-volume global markets. I look forward to working with him and benefiting from his experience as we execute on our growth strategy in the Audio-Video and Automotive markets."

Silberstein said: "Valens has strong technology, an expanding set of market opportunities, and significant potential ahead. I'm excited to join the Board and work with Yoram and the rest of the team to support the company's continued growth."
