Thunder Gold names Glenn Nolan to board, creates advisory board
Thunder Gold Corp. (TSXV: TGOL) announced Glenn Nolan has joined the company's board of directors effective immediately. Nolan previously served as Chief of the Missanabie Cree First Nation and President of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.
Nigel Lees, who served as a director for three years, stepped down from the board to lead Thunder Gold's newly formed advisory board. The company stated this transition allows Nolan to assume a board position.
Nolan received the PDAC 2023 Skookum Jim Award for leadership in fostering engagement between industry and Indigenous communities. He served as director of PDAC's Indigenous Affairs Committee starting in 2005 and was the association's first Indigenous President from 2012 to 2014.
The board changes come after Thunder Gold announced a mineral resource estimate for its Tower Mountain property in January 2026. The estimate, prepared by Micon International Limited, identified indicated resources of 34.5 million tonnes at 0.46 grams per tonne gold, containing 514,000 ounces of gold. Inferred resources totaled 211.1 million tonnes at 0.45 grams per tonne gold, containing 3.05 million ounces.
The Tower Mountain Gold Property spans 6,700 hectares and is located approximately 40 kilometers west of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Thunder Gold recently expanded the property by optioning the adjacent Electra Property.
Company President and CEO Wes Hanson said Nolan brings knowledge of industry, Indigenous and local stakeholders to the board as Thunder Gold advances the Tower Mountain property.
