Thunder Gold adds Olympic sprinter Donovan Bailey to board

Thunder Gold Corp. (TSXV: TGOL) announced the appointment of Donovan Bailey to its board of directors. Bailey, a former Olympic champion who set a world record in the 100-meter sprint at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics with a time of 9.84 seconds, will join the Thunder Bay, Ontario-based gold exploration company.

Bailey said he was introduced to Thunder Gold through the company's chief financial officer and was attracted by what he described as the project's potential. "This could be one of Canada's biggest discoveries and I want to be part of building this exciting Ontario gold story," Bailey stated.

The company focuses on its Tower Mountain project, located 40 kilometers west of Thunder Bay. In January 2026, Thunder Gold released a mineral resource estimate for the property prepared by Micon International Limited. The estimate identified indicated resources of 34.5 million tonnes at 0.46 grams per tonne gold, containing 514,000 ounces of gold. Inferred resources totaled 211.1 million tonnes at 0.45 grams per tonne gold, containing 3.05 million ounces.

Thunder Gold also announced the board approved granting 10.15 million stock options at a strike price of $0.15 for an 18-month term to officers, directors and consultants.

The Tower Mountain property covers 2,100 hectares adjacent to the Trans-Canada highway. Company President and CEO Wes Hanson said Bailey's business experience and focus would benefit the company as it develops the gold property.
