Terrestrial Energy adds nuclear veteran to board, sets Q2 earnings date

Terrestrial Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: IMSR) has appointed Kathryn McCarthy to its Board of Directors, the small modular nuclear reactor developer announced. The company also scheduled its second quarter 2026 earnings release for August 11, 2026.

McCarthy brings experience from senior roles at several national laboratories. She led U.S. participation in the international ITER fusion energy project as Director of the US ITER Project Office at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where she also served as Associate Laboratory Director for the Fusion and Fission Energy and Science Directorate. She previously held the role of Vice President of Science and Technology and Laboratory Director at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories.

Over a 25-year career at Idaho National Laboratory, McCarthy held positions including Director of Domestic Programs for Nuclear Science and Technology and Chair of the INL Science and Technology Council. Since 2026, she has served as Senior Advisor at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society, and holds a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from UCLA.

CEO Simon Irish said McCarthy's experience with large-scale project delivery adds expertise as the company moves forward with project execution and commercial deployment of its Integral Molten Salt Reactor plant.

The company will report second quarter 2026 results before the market opens on August 11, 2026, followed by a conference call at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time. CEO Simon Irish and CFO Brian Thrasher will participate in the call.
